Guerrilla Funk Recordings was born out of necessity. It's a musical
organization that was founded by Paris - the politically conscious artist best known for
the incendiary song "Bush Killa" - that counters the corporate stranglehold of censorship
currently plaguing the entertainment industry. It provides balance in this intolerant climate of
suppression of free speech and artistic expression, and serves as a vehicle for those who are unable
- not because of lack of talent or relevance - to be heard. There now exists a harmful
double-standard at most record labels of endorsing artists who only espouse misogyny, mindless
violence, and drug culture references in their music -- while at the same time ignoring artists
who strive to enlighten and inspire. It is our pledge at Guerrilla Funk Recordings not to follow
suit.
